The secret to putting "social" in social media

The post begins the moment you click share.

Does this cycle sound familiar? You’re a content creator and social media manager who wants to create the perfect graphic or reel. But once it’s finished–after all those design and editing hours–you have little to no energy to engage or manage it once posted.

What would happen if you focused more time and energy on engagement and less on a pretty post?

Why? Increasing engagement can increase the reach of a post and platform by 20-30% (Buffer). Greater engagement --> greater reach --> greater overall impact.

To increase your impact, don't post and ghost.

Instead…

  • Respond to all comments + messages in a timely manner

  • Comment on other accounts' posts + respond to their stories

  • Tag (but don't spam!) folks who might find your content relevant

  • Use interactive content (polls, questions) in stories

  • Follow back! Show people you're also interested in their work + lives

Want to build community? Focus on building relationships; not just a grid full of posts.
